Musician: Hi, I'm a musician. I live here in Nashville. And recently, I hurt myself badly doing some work in the yard. We had a tree come down. I tried to move it by myself and hurt myself. Being a musician, that was the worst thing I could do. I tore a rotator cuff. Went to an orthopedic surgeon immediately over at Vanderbilt, and was told the bad news that I did tear it and that I would need surgery.

Musician: So, researching the alternative ideas, I came across Regenexx, a company that does bone marrow concentrate treatments. And they are the people who invented this idea. So, I immediately made an appointment to go see them. Took my medical records along with me and had a consultation with Dr. Kellum, which went really, really well. So much so that I decided on the spot that this is for me, let's do it. Let's book it as soon as possible.

Dr. Kellum: And so with the procedure that we do, you have a recovery of about six weeks to three months whereas surgery it's going to be three months to six months. And that is if you do well.

Musician: The treatment went very, very well. Wasn't lengthy, I probably wasn't in here more than an hour or so. Within weeks I was doing normal tasks. And the biggest one, or the most exciting thing, was that I could play my guitar. I could put my arm around the guitar, which would've been excruciating prior to the surgery. And so I was able to do that. Had I had surgery, I would not even be close to that in the timeline. So, I was very, very happy about that.

Dr. Kellum: It's not just for the athlete, it's for the musician, folks in everyday life.

Musician: When we hit the six month mark, I think we'll really know whether it's 100%, but I feel like I'm ahead of that right now. I'm a big fan of Regenexx, and I'm a big fan of this idea.
